MA Sociology / Anthropology: at Madan Bhandari Memorial College, Binayak Nagar, New Baneshwor, (Opposite to Anamnagar), Kathmandu


MA in Sociology / Anthropology
As elsewhere in some of the other Universities in the world Sociology/Anthropology has been established as a prominent and combined social science branch under T.U. As member of social science, it encompasses the aspect like human evolution, Human Behavior, social institutions, social structure, social conflict and cultural complex of various societies in the world. In dealing with these aspects, Sociology/Anthropology makes holistic approach and no other members of this domain have contributed in such a manner. Ours as an institutionalized academia is making an endeavor towards developing this discipline as a pragmatic and practical one in order to address various social problems of various natures and degree so as to enhance state's effort to from" New Nepal" from the academic area.

Admission Criteria
A student holding of Bachelor degree of any discipline recognized by the Tribhuvan University is considered eligible to apply for admission. An applicant seeking admission to MA Sociology / Anthropology must appear in the Entrance Examination and obtain minimum qualifying marks.

Examination System
At least Four Internal Exam as practice session apart from Assessment Exam, fieldwork, repot writing.

I have the pleasure of saying that MA programme in Sociology has completed three years and is now announcing admission for the fourth batch. I thank the teachers and the staff for their active corporation in conducting the departmental affairs smoothly and achieving concrete results. I am very happy to announce that we are going to admit the fourth batch of students this year. We have successfully completed these years and that is a great encouragement to us. We have been striving to impart quality education to our students and now we want to make it research-oriented. The gradual improvement in the matter and methodology will definitely lead to an education which will enable our students to compete in the world market of education. With a highly qualified and experienced team of teachers, we are confident to achieve our goal.
