Research Management Cell

"CALL FOR RESEARCH PROPOSAL - 2024"

We are pleased to invite proposals from the students of Masters’ Program (English, Sociology, Mass communication and journalism), BA and BBS (Annual Program), BBM, BScCSIT and BCA (Semester Program) for ‘Research Grants Program’ initiated by the Research Management Cell with the objective of increasing research strength of the institution and academic growth of the students within 15 days (June 17, 2024).

A. Research Areas 

The proposals shall be related to the themes as below -: 

1) Sociology and Social Work

2) Journalism and mass communication 

3) English literature 

4) नेपाली साहित्य 

5) Management

6) Computer Science and Information Technology

7) Computer Applications

B. Award/Grant 

An award of NRs. 40,000/- (Forty Thousands Rupees) each shall be provided from the Award Fund Pool for Research to the applicants who are currently working at Madan Bhandari Memorial College and would like to start research project that are aligned with the above referred themes. Necessary tax shall be deducted as per the rules. Award recipients are expected to present their Research Article along with a report at Madan Bhnadari Memorial College.

C. Evaluation Criteria 

Proposals will be evaluated according to the following criteria (100 points total):

Research Management Cell under Madan Bhandari Memorial College will form a selection committee to evaluate and recommend the successful candidates. All the proposals qualifying the desk review shall be considered for the further evaluation. Subsequently, the technical quality of the proposal shall be evaluated in three steps:

• Review form RMC 70%
• Proposal presentation 30%

The candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% marks from the evaluation of proposal to be called for the proposal presentation.

D. Application Process 

Eligible applicants: The applicant should be full time students of Madan Bhnadari Memorial College. Research Proposal should be in format provided along with this call. 

Adjudication Process: Proposals will be reviewed by the committee of experts as formulated by the Research Management Cell in time.

Research Proposal Format

The outline of the proposal should be as mentioned as below:

1. Research Title

3. Introduction

• Background
• Statement of the problem
• Objective of the study
• Rationale of the study
• Research questions/hypothesis (if necessary)
• Limitations of the study
• Chapter plan

4. Review of Literature

Extensive review (recent) of literature in the pertinent area of the study.

5. Research Methodology

• Research design
• Population and sample
• Data collection procedure and data analysis plan
• Expected results of the study
• Future prospect of the proposed research

6. Time frame (6 months), and detail work plan (in a tabular form)

7. Budget breakdown (up to Rs. 40,000/)

8. Ethical Considerations

Note: Some above mentioned topics/title words may vary according to specific discipline/subject to meet the standard of research trend of concern discipline/subject.
