Call for the Proposal for Research Grants to Students & Faculties

The Research Management Committee (RMC), a key research and academic body of Madan Bhandari Memorial College (MBMC) is actively dedicated to advancing the college’s research profile by organizing regular workshops, seminars and conferences, publishing the Journal (Journal of Productive Discourse, ProD), planning and executing yearly research initiatives, and overseeing research grant administration.

RMC-Madan Bhandari Memorial college calls for proposals for Mini Research Grants—2082 to students, faculties and Faculties - Students collaboration be submitted to the RMC (research@mbmc.edu.np) no later than 05:00 PM, 20th Bhadra, 2082 (5th September, 2025).

The proposal defense will be held within a week of submission. Proposals of original research or project works will be accepted under the thematic areas of all disciplines.

Please note the following points of information:

  1. Candidates who have not submitted the progress reports of previous mini-research grants from RMC, Madan Bhandari memorial college will not be eligible to submit a proposal.
  2. Only one proposal from an individual or group will be accepted.
  3. The student candidates need to submit approval from the respective Head of Department (HOD)/ Coordinators and the proposed Supervisor faculty.
  4. All candidates (Group or Individual) must be the students or faculties of the college. In the case of Faculties Group Research, can be included expert from the college outsiders. All candidates must submit curriculum vitae (CV) clearly mentioned principal investigator and Co-investigators.
  5. Grants distribution (Mini-Research Grants) will be as specified below:
  • Faculties Group: Rs 70,000/- (Group indicates two to Four faculties)
  • Faculty individual: Rs 50,000/-
  • Master’s student(s): 
  • Individual/- (Rs 26,500/- to student & Rs 3,500/- to the supervisor).
  • Group: (Two to Four Students) (Rs 36,000/- to students & Rs 4,000/- to the supervisor).
  • Bachelor’s student(s): 
  • Individual: Rs 25,000/- to student and Rs 3,500/- to the supervisor).
  • Group: (Two to Four Students) Rs 30,000. /- to student and Rs 4,000. /- to the supervisor).
  • Faculty and Students Collaboration Rs. 60,000/-
  1. The updated RMC working procedure will determine the number of faculty/students involved in a group and other selection criteria.
  2. In case of a dispute, the selection committee under the RMC will make the final decision.

 

Research proposal shall comprise of the following (8-10 Pages) Details

  1. Research Title
  2. Abstract
  3. Introduction
  • Background
  • Problem Statement
  • Research Objectives
  • Rationale of the Study
  • Research Questions/Hypothesis (If necessary)
  • Limitations of the Study
  • Chapter Plan
  1. Review of Literature (Extensive review (recent) of literature in the pertinent area of the study).
  2. Research Methodology
  • Research design
  • Population and sample
  • Data collection procedure and data analysis plan
  • Expected results of the study
  • Future prospect of the proposed research
  1. Time frame (6 months), and detail work plan (in a tabular form)
  2. Ethical Considerations
  3. References
  4. APA format is prescribed 

Note: Some above mentioned topics/title or words may vary according to specific discipline/subject to meet the standard of research trends of concern discipline/subject.
